9.3x70 on a weatherby MKV
Anyone have any idea how much room there is in a 270 Weatherby action made in Japan?
Is this the same action that the 378, 416, and 460 Weatherby are built on?

No, they are not the same action.

Bent FossdalYes, same action, but with smaller boltface, and a double-stack magazine and follower.
A 9,3x70 should be easy to make on your .270 Wea'by - and work great!!
And that's the difference between a gunsmith and someone who isn't.
Ok, just got the downside of this caliber, correctly head stamped brass is $130 per 20.
Hmm, 9.3x64 is $150 per 100 from RWS or Horneber. The problem is the bolt face is already H&H basic. So it's too big. Need a full size 30-06 rifle. Japanese action I think, are the full size 30-06 ones.
358 Norma is $100 for $150 from Norma.
I guess I don't want one that bad. Looks like it will be a 358 Norma.
Can't see 9.3x70 at about $600 per 100.

D99,
I misread your OP as .270 Winchester, not .270 Weatherby. The action used for standard cartridges is different. Sorry about that.
