SLEEVED ACTIONS

could someone post some pictures of a sleeved action. and a description as to what the benifits are. I would like to get one barreled or not.
I think most of the ones that I have read about are remington 700.

All it does in make the action stiffer. It's of benifit if the gun is used for bench-rest, but not much else.

David what barrel and caliber is your Br.I like the stock. who made the rifle for you.

It started out with an old (about 1965) 308 Win Remington M700.

I got the sleeve from Speedy Gonzales (no joke, he's a BR shooter and gunsmith) in Texas.

The barrel is a Krieger 6mm, 1 in 8 twist, 30", chambered for 6mm BR Norma with my own custom tight neck reamer. This is the same cartrige as the 6mm BR Remington, except the throat is longer to accomadate 100+ gr 6mm bullets. The Rem version usually has an upper limit of 70gr bullets with a 1 in 14 twist.

The stock is a laminated Shehane Tracker stock from Bill Shehane at D&B Supply. I also got the Nightforce scope from D&B.

It also has a 2oz pull Jewel benchrest trigger. The total weight of the rifle is 16.5 lbs, most of it in the barrel. All of the work was done by Ernie Paull of Paull Firearm Specialties, a local smith in Sacramento.
