akrangeDoctor visit for my "38" Pre-64
Looking for a Smith that can correct issues with my 38 P-64 action.. This is a long story but the rifle is custom job done by a Noted Local .. When I first got it back the firing pin dropped with any movement of the bolt.. I just got it back again and after a number of cycles the bolt is locked up .. The firing pin is in the cocked position out of the action but when I put it back in the action it's in the released position and the safety will not function.. I think the issue revolves around the new style Winchester Safety he installed..
Any Help..

Duane WiebeJust for giggles, you might take a careful look around the bolt sleeve lock. Sometimes the retaining pin will work it's way forward and lock up the bolt.
These pins must always be driven in from the rear.
Another not too uncommon thing to go haywire with the M-70 is the ejector pivot pin coming out and lodge under the sear. This is the one spot a roll pin might be better than the solid pin or else peen the pin in place.
Those don't work? Send it to Jim.
