I don't know about the rest of ya, but hearing quotes from our founding fathers always makes me think these guys were more of fortune tellers than they were politicians. Some things just don't change, even after 200 years.
History has a nasty habit of repeating itself, mostly because people in the present are so quick to forget the past.

The day after 9/11 I had come into town, driving by the BLM and Forest Service office, when I saw Old Glory flying low...I won't forget that...what a sinking feeling, while at the same time an overwhelming since of patriotism. I just wished it didn't take a disaster like 9/11 for people to wake up

What makes you think anyone has woken up? It will take a nuclear blast to wake you guys up. The enemy laughs at all of you, that much I am sure of. A nation which can destroy the earth 10X over and it doesn practically NOTHING when it is attacked, because it is SO concerned about what a bunch of weaklings in other countries say. Yes I am sure the enemy is laughin' his proverbial hiney off right about now.
