I don't know of any particular problems with bluing an Auto-5, so anyone who does bluing should be able to do it. How deep are the spots? Deep enough to need filling or can they be filed/stoned?

I think that they can just be filed. I don't know any gunsmiths in the immediate area, so I was hoping that someone could steer me in the right direction. The Browning guns seem to have a nicer finish (rust blue?) than most other factory guns, so I thought that it might be somewhat specialized.

Talk to Browning. I believe they still offer rebluing services at their Arnold Mo plant.
