Model 70 Classic bolt shroud
How much work or complicated is it to change the pin to a screw like the Pre-64's?

Thanks for any information

He's talking about the firing pin stop screw that originated on the Win. M54 and carried over to the M70. The early classics had these and I believe they were phased out around serial number G300,000.

I don't think that it would be to hard for a skilled smith to do this. The question I don't know the answer to is if the firing pin of the classics without the stop screw has the flat milled onto it necessary for clearance of the screw.

You may want to ask some one like Ed Lapour who manufactures a nice replacement safety for the M70.
