Cut Rifle Re-Bore,Who???

Okay, I need some info on having an existing barrel rebored using the cut rifle method. I have a custom Kurz Mauser in .22-250, sporter weight barrel and wish to rebore to .250 A.I.

So, who is the best and/or most reasonable for this project. Please help with any and all that may be perform this task. Names, address, numbers.

Just a suggestion, reboring normally is a near 2 year deal, last time I checked..Thats why I rebarrel. Unless you have an octogon, ribbed, intrgral sights barrel its just not worth the effort and none of them will guarentee accuracy or that the barrel won,t warp...For whatever its worth.

Every time re-boring comes up I see the name LaBounty. I don't know how to get in touch with him. Maybe a web search would turn it up.

I think he does them in batches of the same caliber. If he's just done your desired caliber it may be a year before he gets back around to it.

Is the .250 enough to clean up a .224?

Try Apex rifle Company in Flagstaff AZ. When I worked for them we used to do a lot of rebores. Give them a try. Sorry i don't have a phone # or address but information should be able to give you a listing.

Thanks to all. I was in touch with Wells Sports Store and was impressed with their knowledge and success with providing this service.

Dan said that it would be approx. a 3 month return time on the gun.

The cost is $265.00, which included, reboring, rechamber, hand-lap and recrown.
