who are the main places that do stock duplication

Russ Gouldwenigs .. but they are a bit full of themselves, and they are not very flexible
there are others, names escape me now. I have one job at "custom rifle stocks" but so far it has just sat in their receiving area for weeks, they have not even looked at it. So I am starting to wonder about them.

If you are talking about "Custom Rifle Stocks" In Aaronsburg, PA. I too have a stock and blank waiting, its been since May and have not been able to get them to answer emails or return calls.
Worst part is the stock I sent as a pattern is kinda one of a kind along with a very nice walnut blank.
Don't know if the virus got them or what. But I a starting to worry.

I'll second Show Me. Donnie does nice work, and in a timely manner, too.

I've use them several times. Very good work. Does not take much work to get a good metal to wood fit from a pattern stock.

Darn right we do!! Hey I'm only 23 months behind on returning to work.

I still plan to return to limited duplicating. I have called the Amish back to work on the shop. Now I just need to insure my body understands the plan.
As usual just my $.02

AtkinsonDennis OLson, Plains Mt. or Gene Myers, Boise Idaho, does a good job for sure..
Personally I like for them to leave a good deal of wood to work with as I can't put it back if they get a tad too much removal..
I prefer to use the mill to remove the junk and do the rest by hand IMO, but as I age the stylest is a lot less work, and I only work for myself these days and only in the winter..
..I guess it depends on what you intend to do with the gun, and what kind of care you intend to you intend to give it....
I have some nice custom rifles and I just hunt with them, stick them in a saddle scabbard or carry them in the Rockies in elk or goat camp..bothers me not, but I can refinish them myself, but I don't, I just use them and use them hard..all those nicks and gouges are a memory of a good or bad hunt...thats worth something.
