Wstrnhuntrchambering question
I have a 6.5 bbl that is short chambered for 260 rem. I am wondering if a 6.5-06 reamer would clean up the chamber? Im guessing the answer is "it depends on how deep it is short chambered".. ??
I know a 6.5-06 AI would do the job, not really intrested though.

M PursellThe standard 06 reamer won't clean up the old chamber. The Improved will.

ramrod340The 06 has less taper than the 260 so you would have to pretty much remove the chamber then recut. As said the AI would but with the std you are pretty much SOL.
A 264 should

Here is a copy of what AmmoGuide says"""AmmoGuide ReBarrel/ReChambering Guide
Given a currently chambered cartridge, list rounds that are candidates for conversion.
This advanced software analyzes the shape of cartridge cases.
(Thanks to Stephen P. Gibbons for suggesting this tool.)
Sorry, but based on your settings, you cannot ReChamber your .260 Remington firearm to 6.5-06 A-Square because the case of the .260 Remington is too wide at the bottom of shoulder.""
The bbl really can't be set back and used for the 6.5-06 unless it is non tapered. The full 260 chamber has to be removed.
