Sorry for the simple minded question, but what would be involved in converting a savage in 223 to 22 hornet? Would like to put a custon barrel on and wonderd what needs to be changed other than the barrel, does the bolt head need to be changed too? Anyone know if there will be feeding issues? I am thinking of a 10FP, but please feel free to make suggestions.

If you reload you already have a Hornet hidden in that 223. Just load 14 grs of IMR SR 4759 and a 40 gr bullet and you will have Hornet ballistics without Hornet problems.

No I was planning on just buying a gun as a foundation for a 22 hornet. But fixed the problem by getting a Ruger #1 in 22 hornet instead.
