TC1Converting a 7mm Rem Mag to a .257 Weatherby????
Just wondering, I've got a Winchester classic in a 7mag and was wondering if the action would be a good candidate for this type of conversion? One thing I noticed is the head on a 7 mag is .531 and the .257 Wby is .532 Is that a problem? Also would a .257Wby feed and extract with out a lot action work? I've got two 7 mags so the 7mag being better or worse than a .257Wby isn't an issue. Thanks TC

StonecreekYes, any 7mm RM action can be rebarreled to .257 Weatherby (or any other belted magnum case of about 2.6" or under) without any further modifications.

NebraskaThat's no problem. Many folks also use 7 Rem Mag brass to form 257 Wby so if you have a bunch on hand, you're lucky.
