Fritz KrautDanny,
is that Savage accurate enough for rebuilding? I had one in the beginning of my hunting carrier. If you zeroed the gun on friday and went hunting on saturday, you would shoot a foot beside the POA. What I hated that gun!
Why dont you want to try .307 winch?
Best regards,
Fritz

Danny PayHi fritz
It isn't accurate at all( i can put 4 shots in a an orange size target off hand and 40 yds) ,but it would fil my wish of having a gun with a good safty(Abolt locks the hammer) and being able to shoot at close distance (eftersk) and having the possibility to shoot from zero yard to 100 yards at deer size games and using shotgun barrel for smal games at shorter distance.
best regards
Danny

Danny PayHi again
I did forget to tel you why I choose 3040 : for two reasons 1: it works at lower P than ;307 the second is 307 has a larger base and it takes more of thin gun barrels thickness at the chamber area and 3040 loaded with 220 gr at around 2100 fps would be a greater killer.

AtkinsonI suspect any rimmed case will work, if the action is strong enough and I would think the 30-40 would be an option if you don't load it too hot.

<Don Martin29>That is not a gun to put any effort like that into. Save up and buy a better combination gun that's made for the calibers you want.
The 30-30 is adequate anyway within it's range.
