Would a .423 Ruger, ie. necked up Ruger .375 or .416 clean up a 10.75x68 chamber?

Or would one of the AR rounds in .423 caliber clean up a 10.75x68 chamber better or as well?

I don't have a 10.75x68 that I'm wanting to butcher.

Just was wondering if one had a 10.75x68 and down the road 10.75x68 brass was not available.
What options would there be to rechamber a rifle in that would clean up the chamber and the existing mag box would work well without a lot of
modification.

From what I have read it could be rechambered to 404 Jeffery (very carefully) but the mag box would need to be reworked and would probably never be optimal. Since the 10.75x68 would have an 06 or short mag drop box and the 404 Jeffery would need a .375 H&H length box and be
wider ect.

I would just run in a .375 Ruger with a .423 pilot. A bit short, but it would not be a problem. Theese old chamberings were not always as narrow as newer chambers, this way you would keep old neck unaltered. It would require opening up boltface and minor work with rails.
To fill out chamber, a wildcat could be made of the 8x68S, a round far less likely to become obsolete.

How about 10.75 X 73 (.404 Jeffrey)?

why not just buy 200 pieces of new brass now, while it is still available and stop worrying about it?

I only own one big bore rifle with less than 300 pieces of brass, and I am working on that one. All I need is Jamison to get back to important stuff. Me and about half the membership here...

The 8x68s necked up to 10.75x68s would be a nice backup if down the road a few years 10.75x68 brass became unavailable and I lost my stockpile.

I am very interested in the 10.75x68 but with only Horneber making brass.
Even though I would do as Rich recommends and stockpile 200 or 300 pieces of brass just in case.

But I wanted to make sure there would be an option if the brass became unavailable and I lost my brass stash. I know, I worry too much!
