McMIllan for Sako 75 Sako 75 or Sako Classic style ?
I am going to order a McMillan stock for my Sako 75 7mm STW and wondering wether others have used either of these two models that McMillan offer the traditional Sako 75 Style same shape that the injection molded stock on it now is (which feels nice) or am I better of with the Sako Classic which is more American style and eminds me of a Ruger style stock which would also be very nice I think.
Any opnions on which would be better is appreciated.

Fish30114PC, I have a bunch of McMillans in the m-75 style, and a few Classic styles as well as a few in the TRG replacement stock. The 75 is my favorite. I have restocked several Sako 85's in the McMillans with the M-75 Geometry. I much prefer the M-75 Geometry, it has an excellent balance in the cast off and cant, and handles recoil very well.
The Classic also does well on recoil management, but the 75 Geometry just seems to 'shoulder up' better.
Good shooting--Don
Don,
Have you also got a Sako Hunter stock - McMillan or original?? If so, what is the difference between a Sako Hunter stock and the Sako-75 stock??
I was reading on McMillan's website this weekend. And just from the information there, it sounded as if the Sako-75 stock might have a somewhat heavier foreend, and possibly a less pronounced palmswell.
I simply adore the palmswell on the Sako Hunter stocks, I wonder what the one on a Sako-75 would feel like??

Thanks fish,
I will take that in to consideration, while the classic looks nice and has clean lines I must admit the injection modled 75 does feel nice.

Fish I had a another look and I really like the looks of the Sako Safari English style express stock made for the IV and the V (my 7mm stw) action and am leaning that way at the moment what do you think of my choice. Am I at a dis advantage if I opt for this model ??
