ramrod340Yugo action in a 94/96 stock???
Since I don't believe I've ever held much less compared the two. Can a Yugo action be fitted into a 94/96 stock. The OAL appears the same and the hole spacing is the same. The Yugo is a large ring(?) the 94/96 small so just extra wood. Removing extra wood is not an issue. Huge gaps would be.

z1rWhen the Yugo's first hit the market in quantity, it was common to use a 96 stock as a pattern. Hole spacing is the same an das you say you gave to open the font ring area. The only problem that seems to come to mind is that the bolt stop may not be located in the same place. I don't have any actions handy.

If you didn't cut the area for the stop then you might be OK

z1rSo, I was right, the bolt stop on the pre-98 is about 1/4" forward of where it is located on an intermediate 98. the Rear tang on many of the pre-98's is also wider. So, if you are making an intermediate stock off a pre-98 pattern, omit the bolt stop cut out and leave a little extra meat in the rear tang.

dpcdWhen you cut your stock using a 96 pattern, , just don't cut the bolt stop notch, or cut it farther back. And the tang is a bit wider on the 96; damn I see that zlr already answered. I don't get up that early.
