Anyone seen recently, anyone that has some inexpensive, non fancy, kinda utility grade english(or) blanks, Staight grain , nice quarter sawn, Darker color.

Dressels has a bunch of very nice blanks for as little as $100. I'd certainly rate them better than utility grade.
