Replacement for Mauser rear stock screw sleeve
I seem to have misplaced the one for my .375 Whitworth.

Is there an everyday hardware store item that can substitute?

I have done that. Send me a stamped self-addressed envelope and I will send you one when I return from vacation on July 10th.

I have used regular roll pins, found at any hardware store, several times when re-stocking m-98's. You will have to cut to size and be prepared they are also hard as h@#%.

I have used steel fuel line tubing. You can get an eight inch piece for just a few dallars. I think I used 5/16" fit without any mods to the stock.

Ended up with 3/8" O.D. brake line from the local auto parts store. 8" piece plus a tubing cutter for ten bucks. It's a little bigger diameter than the original part but looked as if it would work fine -- in half an hour or so I'll see if I can get the thing apart.
