If so, do they do a "long-throated" version or a "short-throated" version? I've had them do several barrels since they re-tooled, and they've all shot very well. Their short-coming is finding someone to answer a question like mine... whoever fields the phones for them isn't particualrly knowledgable! I'm contemplating making up a Roberts on a stainless Win 70 SA... $250 to rebarrel in stainless.

Get a Pac-Nor. Better barrel, same money

Scott, Pac-Nor installed is $420. Shaw installed is $250. That's not the same if my math is correct!

The prices went up!! Ok, here is what I would do. Get the $190 barrel, $75 for the prefit option. That makes, 190 + 75 = 265. Find a gun hobiest with a lathe. To fit a "prefit" you simply remove material from the shoulder until the headspace is correct. They have a LONG chamber. I have done several in my garage. It is not hard. Failing that get a gunsmith. I can't imagaine charging more than $100, maybe he would I don't know. It is less than one hour labor. Any way you slice it the Pac-Nor is a better barrel. I have found that I never regret purchasing quality. I do regret pinching pennies and later being dissappointed.
The fact that Shaw can't answer your question should make you wary!

Brad...the Pac-Nor price includes truing-up the action but to each his/her own.

You couldn't give me an ER Shaw barrel...They are pretty rough from the get go, however a few of them shoot well I suppose or so I've been told...

I use only Lothar-Walther barrels these days..Have yet to see one that wouldn't shoot 1/2"...

Had two done by Shaw 308 and 35 Whelen imp. inside is rough reamer marks. they shoot well though. I will hand lap them my self.
