ColoradoMattShort AR Buffer tubes for use with folding stock hinge and a pistol brace???
Fairly recently, the BATF has declared that the “length of pull” on AR pistols is not to exceed 13.5”. This effectively eliminates the legal use of side folding stock hinges on AR pistols such as those made by Law Tactical and Sylvin arms, as length of pull is increased beyond the legal limit. I am wondering if a standard buffer tube with the adjustable stock rib can be shortened enough to allow the legal use of side folding stock hinges? Doing so seems like it would open up a can of worms with regards to buffer springs and buffers. However, if someone (DPCD comes to mind) could figure all of this out, a market niche could be filled (until the BATF changes their mind again, and outlaws AR pistol braces altogether.).
Why is it always me for the odd ball off the wall conversions?
I can design what you want, but I can't weld aluminum. (Have to put the end cap back on) Use the CAR type buffer and springs.
