Has anyone had any experience with Alaska Arms scope rings. They are making a Burgess style BRNO ring for $129.00. In three different heights. Just trying to get some feedback on the quality.

There are a few folks that are using Morris' QD rings and so far the opinions seem positive.

I just received the first ring set today and they look nice. Cool packaging with clear easy to follow instructions. Here are a few unprofessional observations on the Alaska Arms rings compared to my Talleys.
1. The overall quality looks good but I can see casting marks on the levers and there are no serrations on the levers like the Talleys.
2. The levers are on the left side and the Talley lever is on the right side.
3. Talley ring is thicker.
4. The top of the AA rings are lower profile than the Talley and has smaller screws.
5. The levers lock with 1/4 turn either way front or back and the Talley takes several turns.
6. I don't like the fact that the levers are in the horizontal position when locked. The Talley lever can be set to vertical.
7. Notice the flat area running center of the ring. The edges taper. Still trying to decide if I like that or not, but I do like the thin lightweight look.
8. overall they are less bulky than the Talley (btw my Talleys have been altered)
9. Medium height is .400" and Talley is .410"

Bottom line is that I like them enough to order another set in low .300" although I'm not sure the bolt handle will clear my Swarovski, its going to be close. I spoke to Morris and his wife at Alaska Arms by telephone and they were extremely nice people and I wish them well.

What caliber rifle(s) are you using the Alaskan Arms rings on?

I'd be interested to know if you find these rings as repeatable as demonstrated in the video? If they are that precise and can be removed with just a quarter turn per side....well thats pretty amazing in my book.

The gun is a .275 Rigby built on a BRNO action. I havent had a chance to shoot the gun with the new rings yet. I got the low height rings in and they work with my 1.5-6x42 Zeiss. Clears the barrel by just enough and the bolt handle clears as well. I like to mount my scopes as low as possible and I couldn't get that low with the Tallys.
