Sako Finnlight question
I am looking for any information on the Sako Finnlight in stainless/synthetic. Pro or con. How does this rifle compare to the Model 75 Hunter? Thanks in advance.

The Finnlight is basically identical to the model 75 stainless synthetic except the bottom metal is alloy, the bottom of the detachable mag is also alloy, and the bbl is shorter than 'standard'. My 30'06 bbl is 20.5" approx. A 7mm08 is about 19.25" approx bbl length. I didn't measure the .300 Win mag but it was about 22" or so. Out of the box mine will put 3 150gr. Win Ballistic Tips into well under an inch. The fluting and the short bbl make it very handy and I don't think velocity will matter much at hunting ranges. It's great!

Thanks for the response, I am trying to decide between the Finnlight in .280 Rem and the standard Hunter with walnut and blued metal. I appreciate the input.

The stock on the Finnlight is also made of *much* thinner material than the Hunter. I have seen a picture of both of them with the recoil pad off, and the Finnlight's stock looks downright flimsy.
And the barrels are so short I wouldn't want one with anything longer than the shortest action.

For a Sako, I would definitely buy a regular Hunter ( I prefer the blued).
For the price, I would definitely get a Remington Custom KS Mountain Rifle.
