Where would I go to find a bolt for a Rem. 788 243 and of course bolt stops. thankx

Been there done that. In fact I've tried most of the usual places. I need places that non-gunsmith people like me wouldn't know about. Apparently the bolt on the 788 was a "weakest link".

Dick, on one of the older posts on this forum, this subject was brought up. Do a search. One of the gents who answered is tooling up to make the bolts. Other than that, try Westerngunparts.com (Western Gun Parts, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada)or start hitting the gun shows and flea markets. FWIW - Dan

LeeRoy Wisner of Wisner's Inc., was the one that is/has tooling/ed up to make 788 bolts again. It is mentioned on his website...

Probably have to call him to see where he is with these today. Jeff P
