Tim in TNRemington 788 Question
I want to replace the scope base on my Remington 788, it currently has Weaver aluminum slot type and would like to use Redfield turn in type. There are 2 choices for either a long action or xtra long, is there a measurement I can take on the action screws and determine which I have?? Thanks in advance for a helpful reply. Tim. The main reason for wanting the change is I have piles of rings for this system and am waiting on a shipment of a Nikon 4-12x40 to put on it.

The Big DogHi,
They have three action lenghts.
Short action, 44 Mag.
Long action, 222 Rem, 223 Rem, 22/250 Rem.
X-Long action, 243 Win, 6mm Rem, 7mm-08, 308 Win.
Natchez shooters supply, and Midway both show that they have the Redfield bases for about $15. Hope this helps some, The Big Dog
