3584ELKParts commonality between 1889 Belgian and 1891 Mausers?
More specifically, can a Timney trigger from a '91 Mauser be installed on an 1889 Belgian?
Timney says NO.
Anyone with experience to the contrary?

Fal GruntMy understanding is the 1889, 1890, and 1891 use the same parts. I would expect that they interchange?
I think I would question the WHY though... given what Belgian 1889's go for vs a Argentine 1891?
Unfortunately I do not have a Timney trigger to put on an 1889 to test...

I buy Mauser actions, parts, micrometers, tools, calipers, etc. Specifically looking for pre-WWII Mauser tools.

3584ELKI agree with your premise, which is what I have always heard.
Why would I do that to a 1889 Belgian? I would not, except someone converted mine into a .308 heavy barreled target rifle. I need a better trigger before I take on the other issues.
I have a Timney '91 trigger on hand, so I may try this on the weekend- more to follow.

Gary MacDonaldI'd load that 1891 on the very soft side . They aren't too strong and the gas venting system or lack of it is concern . Be careful .
