M99-R Forearm Screw
Hello
I need your help. I have a M99-R SN#582XXX made in 1950. This was a slightly upscale model with a thicker forearm than a 99EG, requiring a longer forearm screw than a 99E. Some idiot relative jammed the wrong size of screw to hold the forearm in place. The barrel stud is in good shape after I re-tapped the hole. None of the gunsmiths in my area have a good enough working knowledge of Savage 99's to be of any help. The screw I am looking for is a 8-40 NS about one inch long.

Brownell's and Nurmich's have been no help. I would consider paying someone to make me that forearm screw

Thanks
ZM
