7x66 Vom Hofe - Insights?
So I guess the primary question I have is, "Can I effectively use some 'American' components (bullets and barrel) for this chambering?"

The reamer I've acquired is ground to CIP dimensions which, from what I understand, means using a .285" bullet. Would the standard .284" bullets provide adequate accuracy? (This will be a hunting rifle.) If not, who offers a premium grade "European (.285)" 7mm bullet and how would I go about obtaining some?

The additional .001" in bullet diameter gives me pause concerning the barrel as well. Is there a barrel maker out there who offers a European 7mm barrel?

Thanks in advance for any assistance in this matter.

I sold mine to a member of this forum. Maybe he will see this and respond. I gave him a lot of loaded rounds, dies, and the rounds had the correct headstamp.

Do a search for RKS Enterprises Ltd / Ron Smith Barrels. Ron Smith makes a custom cut rifled match grade barrel.

C.I.P. cartridge-chamber prints for the 7x66 Von Hofe are found here :

I have an early Ruger #1 in 7mm Rem mag . This barrel is slightly over size in bore diamensions -I will measure it some day.
It shoots very well with Sierra 140 gr flat base and IMR-4350 at maximum pressure.

Measure various American 7mm bullets. They vary from .282 to .2845 diameter.

A great site to research such ammunition is the I.A.A. found at
