MaxPayneIt's as you guessed, a DWM large ring 98 Mauser action. Santa Fa sporterized military action, mainly the 98 Mauser and the SMLE .

D Humbargercatboat I must plead ignorance on what the B in a circle means. Hopfully some other collector will give us some insight.

CDHI'm certainly not a Mauser expert, but I did own a 1908 Brazillian with the crest intact.
DWM mark
Bottom metal
The bottom metal is mismatched to a Brazillian. My point is that without the crest, I am not sure there's any real way to identify it. The 1909 Argie, 1908 Brazillian, and any others made by DWM in this time frame are reportedly interchangable...just with a different crest.
Enjoy it for what it is. Without a lot of detailed research and a few good books (interesting in it's own right I'll admit) you're not likely to come any closer to a positive ID.
