maxbearcz questions
Howdy, I have been searching around on AR trying to learn more about my CZ magnum action. Man I'll tell you this site is Gold, I have learned a bunch.
Its kind of neat to go back to a thread thats a fiew years old, and see a post from 500grains, Elcaballero, or BobbyTomek. I also have to admit that Yuman is hilarious and Gumboot458 is quite the charactor.
Well anyway I just thought I would share that here.
Ok I'll get back to buisness, here are my questions.
1. Who makes a 3 position saftey for my CZ? And is a 3 position saftey really that much safer than the one the factory installed?
2. What about a trigger? I have found only one outfit that makes a aftermarket trigger and that is American Hunting Rifles {AHR} is there anybody else that I am missing?
Also anything else I need to do to make my CZ action more safe and reliable?
Thanks

cummins cowboyI think the trigger is the best on the market, I have no idea why people find the need to replace them with something, If you put a 3 pos saftey on the gun that physically blocks the firing pin having the " less reliable trigger" is a non issue, if CZ would go to this type of saftey for their guns as wells as make the 550 less clunky and big, it would put a world of hurt on all the gun makers

tin canI agree, the factory bolt shroud on a 550
is clunky- if I ever buy one, a new shroud will be first on my list.

M PursellI recently discovered that CZ sells a replacement 3-position safety for the 550. It looks like the original except that it has a middle detent to allow opening the bolt with the safety on. I don't know the price of it, but it should be much cheaper than a replacement shroud with safety. Contact CZ-USA.

tin canI have found that CZ sells their replacement parts at a resonable cost, usually.

I called them and the cost of this saftey is $68.60 US

maxbearI looked at both Ed Lapour and the American Hunting Rifle websites. The price for the Ed Lapour saftey is $250.00, and the American Hunting Rifle saftey is $195.00
Well can anybody tell me anything about the two of these safteys in comparision?
Thanks
