Low Wall Action Question
Is the 1885 low wall action suitable for the 7x57 cartridge? I never see them chambered for much more than .243, 22-250 and such.

well since the 243 and 260 are similar pressure rounds to the 7yx57 i can see no reason what it wouldn't work out just fine

Frank de Haas recommends pressures not exceed 45 000 PSI on the low wall..therefore he recommends ctgs like 22WMR, 22 Hornet, 357 Mag..etc.. In the old days, we would never use a low wall for any high intensity cartridge....this is a original...right?

The low wall guns that I have seen chambered in 243 and 22-250 are all new guns. I can't say that I have seen an older original action chambered in anything that high pressure.

So can it be done in a newer action?
