NEVER, EVER book a hunt with BLAIR WORLDWIDE HUNTING or JEFF BLAIR.
I have come to understand that in hunting, the goal is not the goal but the process.

James C ScottGee,
For an extra grand you get a knot in the most visible part of the stock!

I was thinking exactly the same thing.
The price of knowledge is great but the price of ignorance is even greater.

jimmyd223Well, I for one think it is a bargin. A left handed Cooper, if I was left handed or had a son left handed I would be all over this. That knot won't affect anything and I am sure that if a problem arose that Cooper would stand behind it 100%.
I have owned several coopers and their customer service is second to none.

fyjI think it’s a pretty piece of wood and I normally don’t like light colored wood. Might be just the photo, but this wood has a nice “warmth†to it that allot of lighter wood doesn’t have.
I also agree with jimmyd223, that little knot isn’t going to hurt anything structurally, and if it bothered a guy that much there are plenty of good stock makers out there that could make it pretty much disappear for you.

GeorgeSI'm left-handed, and I own a left-hand Cooper in .17 Mach IV.
However, I cannot imagine getting a stock that looks like that (too bland) at
no extra cost, let alone for an extra $999.

jimmyd223George, that is very true, if you were paying an "extra" grand for the stock. It is a no reserve and the high bid is 1225.00, which is less than a standaerd gun. So from that stand point I see it as a bargin.

GatogordoJust to be clear, it isn't my gun, nor am I a left handed shooter. OTOH, I agree with the "pluses" above, I kind of like the stock look, it is something different to talk about on the range, etc. and if I was a lefty and if it was chambered in almost anything but that cartridge, I'd be all over it at anywhere near those numbers.

CustomstoxJimmy, who is it that we know with a left handed son???? Damn, the name escapes me. Is it Tyler's Dad?
18 January 2007, 03:45
jimmyd223Chic, I was going to say Tyler's "Cheap" Dad, but any Dad that would order his son a Hein Custom can't be all bad.

J_ZolaHello,
I may be wrong again but thats not a model 38. I think the 38 is only for hornet based rounds. Isn't the the 17 MK IV on the 221.

tin canCorrect- per Cooper's website, the 17 Mach IV is on the Model 21.

Magnum Hunter1Hell it looks better than I expected. My first reaction was it was going to be fiberglass in pistachio green.

Fish30114jimmyd223, who is that in the MMA fight in your avatar?
Is that Lidel knocking out Ortiz?
Haven't gotten to check out the result of that fight yet.......
