<RustyF>Timney Triggers?
Is Timney Triggers out of business? I talked to a Debbie there last spring and inquired about a trigger for a Remington Model 788 in .222. She told me it they would be ready to ship in May. May came and went. I called repeatedly and couldn't get an answer. I sent e-mails over and over. Finalyy a guy named John e-mails and says Debbie is gone, but that he just got into her e-mail and would make it all right, then he disappears. I have called and e-mailed until it is a joke. Anybody know if they just called it quits or what? I still need the trigger for the 788, if anyone can help. Thanks.

Hold 'emI've been reading about Timney triggers for a 788 on these forums for a long time and have not seen where anyone has gotten one yet. I gave up on Timney and had a gunsmith rework my trigger for about 50 bucks. Pulls much lighter, smoother and is adjustable. I'd think that there would be someone in your area who could do the same work.

beemanbemeI'm in the same boat. I have two 788 triggers "on order" that was supposed to be shipped "in a couple of weeks". That was last spring. I think it was Debbie I talked to also. Oh well, I can get the modification done locally.

The Big DogHi,
I just talked to the boys from Timney and was told they were having trouble with one of there machines that makes one of the parts for the 788 triggers. They're hoping to have it up and running by the end of the month. I know where you are coming from. I have 6 on order from last summer.

Jerry EdenGuys:
Here is some info which may help. While I don't have a 788, I do use lots of Timmney Triggers.
Since they are located here in Phoenix, it is easy for me to run over there.
Call John Vehr, he is the president, and always willing to help. 602-274-2999
Tell um Jerry Eden gave you the phone number, LOL

<Savage 99>I called Timmney a couple of months ago and asked what the right # was for an old FN Mauser. The young man was very polite and gave me the model # and told me that the prices at say a Midway would be less so that's where I ordered it. When it came it was in a package marked "FN" but the trigger hit the trigger guard at the rear and bottom! So I called again and got the same guy and he said to try the "K" model. That one was the right size and LOP for the guard but the sear was so high that it would not fire. Instructions that came with it said that there was a model with a lower sear! I was never told this.
I gave up and sold the trigger to a friend. The trigger on the old FN is not as bad as dealing with Timmney.
I don't care what a trigger costs. I would try another company first.
