6_5X57Portuguese mauser
A friend of mine is offering me a portuguese 1937 M98 mauser in 8x57 in good condition. The gun is not a vergueiro mauser. I want to use the accion for a future project. May anybody give some information about the quality of this action to be used in a custom project?
Thank you in advance for your suggestions

DUKIf I remember it well they were manufactured by Mauser/Oberndorf according to the same quality requirememts as the pre-war production K98k for the Wehrmacht. Many rifles were not even delivered to the Portuguese Army but remained in the Fatherland when WW2 broke out.
Honestly, if it is in good condition I would keep it as a collector's item and look for another action where you don't have to "butcher" a fine rifle.
