Magnum Mauser Synthetic Stock ?
I have not tried it yet, but imagine a McMillan or even the CZ "Kevlar" stock made by Bell&Carlson could be made to fit.
Sumbuddy who dunnit before?

Please don't tell me that MPI has a Magnum Mauser stock ready to go. Wink

This is the rifle:

The drop of the magazine is mostly a pocket plate below the belly of the stock.
Maybe a standard Mauser 98 stock could be made to fit?

Here's the stock in question ...

My personal opinion is:

DON'T DO IT MAN ...!!!

Don't Junglefy a pefectly good Magnum Mauser ... Big Grin

Buy another CZ Magnum for 800 bucks or whatever they cost and send it and your MacM stock up to Wayne for the Gastric-Mag-Ramp Surgery ...

If you wanna put that horrid Mauser up for adoption I might know of a good home ... rotflmo

Unfortunately, Rip, they do. It's one they build for the GMA, and the lines and size are very nice.

I had one here a few weeks back.

MPI again, eh?

More Questions:

With a wooden strip imbedded in the foam of the forend,
to stiffen it?

With a wooden dowel along the bottom of the foam-filled butt to provide something to screw a swivel base into besides the thin fiberglass shell?

Requiring that I epoxy an oak block into the butt in order to have something, besides foam, upon which to mount the recoil pad?

Will the barrel channel and forearm be straight and symetrical this time, or crooked as last time?

Macifej,
So the McMillan will work, eh?
I can order it with proper LOP too, eh?
Will it take six months to get?

I see that "they say" they have some special Mauser stuff there too, should call and ask ...

I ordered a McMillan (MkV Classic Magnum) stock on the 11'th of May. I was told delivery time could be expected to be 4-5 months.

McMillan sent me an order confirmation by 01-Jun-2009 (not sure whay that took so long?). The good news was that by then, they expected the stock to be done by mid to end August. That looks more like 3-4 months delivery time. We shall see what transpires. YMMV...

No McMillan tooling for Magnum Mauser.

McMillan will make a "flattop" version of any stock they offer, solid filled action area and barrel channel. Must be inletted by self.

A flattop-CZ/BRNO Express stock would be a possibility.

That would be less work than the usual MPI stock, and the McMillan would be stronger. thumb

Lone Wolf has been suggested on the big bore forum ...

Why?
I gotta have a stock versatile enough for regular shooting and daily use as a canoe paddle.
