Re: Full Length Sizing?
Yes.

FL dies size the body of the case as well.

JAL, if you can get them down under try a RCBS Precision Case Micrometer in your favorite caliber. It measures the actual headspace of a fired round and you can adjust your Full Length die using the tool. Some guns actually have under spec chambers and need to the shellholder for full length sizing. Others are a bit looser.........DJ

I'm sure I'm wrong, I just feel it.
You all keep saying to FLS is to push the shoulder back -
a bit.
The visual (and measurable)effect of fireing my cases
expands the area just above the thick base.
On reuse and neck sizing until FLSing is required I see
a "wear" ring. Looks like insip.Head sep. but isn't.
Prob. the exact same place it will occur though.
So, I assumed that this was the area of the case that I was
FLSing. (And it sure gets reduced in dia. when "custom"
FLSing.)
So, Am I realy pushing the neck back as well, and why no
mention of dia.reduction when discussing FLSing ?
Sure I could go and do some measuring, but I never get the
same measurment twice!!! But be sure I'll check next
time I'm FLSing.
