p dog shooterYou don't most 22 lr actions are not strong enough the magazines are not big enough. The 22 mag is quite a bit bigger then 22 lr that give you all kinds of trouble somebody most likely as done it but my guess it wasn't worth the trouble
You need to ream out the chamber and open the bolt face. Simple solution: buy another rifle. That way, you'll have both to shoot.

SantalaThe only real way to convert 22LR to 22Mag is to rebarrel. Over the years they have had several pistols that had a cylinder for each but there is a real problem with accuracy. The had the barrel of the gun in the 22 mag diameter. The 22 lr is .223 and the 22 mag is .224 if you shoot a 22 mag in a 22lr barrel you will have increased preasure beyond that of the a normal 22 mag.
GCC said it, buy a gun in 22 mag

Hello
They are not the same diameter; rechambering would only be the beginning. The 22 WMR is bigger than the 22 LR, and this would raise the case pressure by an amount that I am not sure how to calculate. The gunsmiths I've talked to about this discourage the idea.

Thanks for all replies! I've better buy brand new 22WMR to not destroy my 22LR.
Thanks again!
