Roland1Question about - Lon Paul
Does anybody have experience with this maker: Lon Paul - Tanglewood Custom Guns? If so, how would you rate his work and what is his specialty.
Thank you,
Roland

I have not had contact with Lon in about 8 or 9 years. Used to speak with him on the phone frequently about BRNOs. That is his specialty, especially stock work. 7 or 8 years ago, maybe more, he had a couple of nice write-ups in the glossy mags on his customization of BRNOs. The work looked very nice to me. He is a heck of a nice guy, as is his father. That is all I know.

Hugh WCheck American Hunter (NRA Magazine). I believe in last months issue. They had an article written by Joe Coogan about a Lon Paul .416 Rigby. It had an accompanying photo. Looked very nice. This is the second Lon Paul rifle Coogan has acquired. Hugh

nainitalI have in my library an old number from Guns & Ammo where Joe Coogan writes a custimization of a Brno ZKK 602 made by Lon Paul. No less an authority than Jack Lott himself was involved in the project and Wally Johnson Jr. was there also. In fact, I bought my own 602 due to this article. As per the writings, his work is excellent.
Good luck

Roland1Gentlemen,
Thank you all for the advice, Glen71 mentioned the Lon Paul 30-06 at Cabelas. I purchased the rifle for my wife; I hope it will be good quality.
Thank you again,
Roland
Nice work on that husky. Looks like the original stock was modified for a pattern. Cant quit see what he did to that bolt reliese..
That one looks like it has the big honkin aluminum bottom metal. Very nice work though,

458WinThose photos about sum up Lon's work. Excellent. He is building a 9.3x62 for me on an Enfield action at this time.
Anyone who claims the 30-06 is ineffective has either not tried one, or is unwittingly commenting on their own marksmanship

That rifle was built about 8-years ago and took him about a year to deliver.
