Question about - Lon Paul
Does anybody have experience with this maker: Lon Paul - Tanglewood Custom Guns? If so, how would you rate his work and what is his specialty.

Thank you,
Roland

Roland:

I have not had contact with Lon in about 8 or 9 years. Used to speak with him on the phone frequently about BRNOs. That is his specialty, especially stock work. 7 or 8 years ago, maybe more, he had a couple of nice write-ups in the glossy mags on his customization of BRNOs. The work looked very nice to me. He is a heck of a nice guy, as is his father. That is all I know.

I've seen his work on ZKK-602s. It is extremely nice, first class in every way.

Check American Hunter (NRA Magazine). I believe in last months issue. They had an article written by Joe Coogan about a Lon Paul .416 Rigby. It had an accompanying photo. Looked very nice. This is the second Lon Paul rifle Coogan has acquired. Hugh

I have in my library an old number from Guns & Ammo where Joe Coogan writes a custimization of a Brno ZKK 602 made by Lon Paul. No less an authority than Jack Lott himself was involved in the project and Wally Johnson Jr. was there also. In fact, I bought my own 602 due to this article. As per the writings, his work is excellent.
Good luck

There's currently a Lon Paul Husqvarna rifle on Cabela's Gun Library.

Those photos about sum up Lon's work. Excellent. He is building a 9.3x62 for me on an Enfield action at this time.

That's a sweet 416. How long did it take for Lon to deliver?

That rifle was built about 8-years ago and took him about a year to deliver.
