the .264 barrel I mentioned earlier is a little confusiong to me. The front sight base blued perfectly, and it had a lot of polishing to remove factory tooling marks.

Is the base carbon steel?

If it is, how was it attached to the SS barrel? I don't know of any solder that bonds carbon steel to SS,
