Some time ago, purchased a Encore Pro Hunter barrel in 22 LR & this past weekend mounted it to frame. There is a dimple present at 12 o'clock position in leade area of breech thought to have been cased by dry firing. What is the name of that tool that irons out this dimple and allows a cartridge to be chambered and where to order...thanks, r in s.

I can't see your barrel but TC cuts a relief in the back of the barrel to prevent damage. It just looks like dry fire damage. Will a cartridge drop in the chamber freely?

A live cartridge may drop in just fine, it's what happens after the cartridge case expands that is the problem.

I get guns into my shop where the edge of the chamber is so battered from dryfiring that it loses it's ability to act like an "anvil" against the force of the firing pin, causing misfires.

Even though you may have an iron to repair the damage, if the problem is caused by dryfiring, and it isn't immediately addressed, you can end up with a chamber that can't support the case head. Before that happens I would recommend you take it to a gunsmith to get the problem corrected.

Thanks for the replies gentlemen, I see the relief cut and believe a dimple has formed at 6 o'clock position. My 'smith is only PT these days, may order tool just to get started. A cartridge cannot be loaded, mucho lead shaving from the burr . I have never fired one shot. r in s.

Buddy of mine has the same problem with the rimfire tube he bought for his Encore. A couple dryfire snaps and it won't chamber a cartridge.
