Its just an opinion, but I think the Blackburn bottom metal looks the nicest becasue of the oval shape of the triggerguard. the oberndorf style available from Sunny Hill looks nice too but is more expensive. You could save a few bucks byy purchasing a 1909 Argentine unit and polishing it up and installing a Wisner straddle floorplate and a button guard. They fit the G/33.40.
As for the safety, I just ordered a left hand 3 position from Timan and it will be interesting to see how that works out after being used to the right hand ones on Model 70s. You might contact him and talk to him about it. If you want a right hand one you could go with one by Ed Lapour, or if you want you could have the original shroud machined for a two position style. I know Mr. Kobe who post here would be happy to do it for you.
Make sure and come back and show us photos of your completed project.

fyj, you know,I looked at those and thought it was a great idea but I then picked up a pre-64 and tried to imagine using it on the other side and it seemed just plain awkward to me. I'm sure some would find it just right but for this redneck homboy, I'll keep mine on the right side.
hardin, when ya get that list of parts all figured out send me a copy, it will make my project much easier, I'm lazy![]()
