When Remington takes over Charles Daly
My question is: Is there a legitimate future of Remington offering just the actions for sale?

I have only owned two push feed action ever (one a Weatherby MV and incedently a Remington 700) and personly don't like them!(Only my opinion and preferance, please no debates) But am always looking for a CRF action for a project.

From what I've been hearing and reading Remington has no plans for actions or barreled
actions.

For my $$ I would pick up a used MKX or FN.

As usual just my $.02

Many places sold the 700 action. The dealer would just buy the complete rifle and sell off the parts they didn't need. There is nothing wrong with the barrels on the Daly's for a hunting rifle. Like Major says. Wait until WW has them on sale and sell of the parts you don't need.

Do we really know that Remington won't be selling barreled actions? One article I read stated that they would be importing the barreled actions and apparently stocking them here. If this is the case, it might make sense for them to sell the barreled actions. Of course I used the word sense and it probably won't apply. Roll Eyes

True enough, however the cheap bastards won't deviate from a profit! Meaning, either it is a barreled action or complete, if they buy riflestocks, no chance for an action. This is my concern.

Yeah, but the sonsabitches would gouge you on the price! At least in here Canada.
Thank you for the advice of selling parts but, honestly I am a pisspoor salesman and have 8 barrels I can't feel but ripping someone off with. So I am stuck with them, as I don't feel right throwing them away! A ridiculuos dilema, but I can live with it.

one of my wholesalers is a big remington dealer. they also sold the charles daly's. the remington mausers are listed on the web site and in the flyers as whole guns. there are no listings for the remington actions or barreled actions. by the way i checked several numbers for the remington mausers and other guns and none are in stock at the warehouses yet.

After having seen the new Zastava-Remington at the SHOT Show, you can rest assured that Remington IS selling a barreled action - it just has a stock looking piece of wood attached to it.

The action and barrel looked decent but the wood! It was an embarassment to Remington - even the Spartan wood was better looking!

A cheesy looking laminated, poorly inletted, clunky feeling piece of left over construction grade dimension lumber. People will be throwing these away in droves.

And these were the demo models they put on show for the buyers at SHOT!

I hope they have not bet the salvation of the company on these rifles.

It seems not likely.....but if they do they have to clean them up a lot better than the Daly offering. There was a reason why Daly dropped the line....

TYhe Zastava action if well finished and altered a bit for the .375 length action would sell..... Will Remington do that?.....what do you think?

Daly didn’t drop the line...Remington snatched it out from under them with a sweeter deal for the manufacturer.

Either way, it will just be another mass produced, low priced rifle for the Wal-Mart crowd...which unfortunately makes up the customer base for the major manufacturers.
