Chrome plating in a spot?
Is it possible to do chrome plating in small areas rather than the whole firearm?

Areas like receiver raceway and semi-auto slide rails, areas that need protection.

Thanks in advance.

You might research electroless nickel, I'm not certain, but I think it can be applied at random... or not.

Try Robar for NP3 (Electroless Nickel, with Teflon additive). NP3 is real tough, salt water proof, stays where it is put, and has a lubricity that slicks things up. Just received two rifles back from Robar (a M70 375) and a McBros action 460 Wea. Put on black Robar Roguard on the exterior, and NP3 on the interior parts (bolts, triggers, etc.) I will post some photos after I get the rifles together. NP3 looks like fine bead blasted stainless.

NP3 can be spot or area applied, Robar masks the areas where it is not wanted. And you can NP3 the complete rifle.

I would not trust chrome, it has a habit of peeling off and it is not slick like NP3.
