My father recently passed away at age 86 and among the guns he owned was a Walther PP in .32 Auto caliber. He took the sidearm off of an unfortunate and very dead Nazi officer in the spring of 1945. For 60 years, Dad used the gun as his "bedroom" protection and I am certain the last person to clean and oil the pistol was the aforementioned deceased Nazi.

I am now in possession of the Walther and interested to learn how one disassembles it for cleaning. I have a Browning Hi Power which of course is quite simple to take apart. I see no such simplicity in the Walther.

If anyone has experience with this handy little German pistol, I would appreciate your advice. Thank you in advance for any information you may have.

Really quite simple. The trigger guard is hinged at bottom rear. Pull the front of guard down and after it clears the frame move slightly to left and let it rest on frame. Pull the slide to rear and at full rear lift up at rear at let move forward off the barrel. Should all be smooth movements no real resistance should be felt at any point in the disassembly.
