Michael PetrovTell me about this old world finish
I would like to offer a couple of observations if I may. Keep in mind that I do not finish any new stocks only some restoration work on older classic sporters.
I have been working with stand oil. Still don't know enough about it but shows promise as a BOILED linseed oil. It's as thick as honey and you will have to heat or cut it. This is pure linseed oil, no chemicals.

a friend of mine recently(july 4) finished his 3 season porch of knotty pine with a product that contained raw LO.
Its still very tacky, and still has odor.
