I noticed the bottom metal being a bit too un-military like myself but did not realize the work involved.

You say that you welded the gaps on the front corners after the floorplate was moved rearward.

What type of rod did you use and are the gaps welded fully through the mag box or did you weld in material only near the surface to make it look cosmetically nice?

that rifle is absolutely beautiful! and chambered for one of my favorite cartridges too!
