MacifejIs it something whacky? Did they have to make tooling or order some strange material? They may be busy making M4 or SAW barrels or something too??

homebrewerI had them spin up a custom contour in stainless for me in the summer of 2003. I took about 60 days. Steel was a bunch cheaper then that it is now. A lot of our steel is going into war materiel for the fight in Iraq. This may be part of the problem. Rest assured that when you do get it, it will the best you can buy.
The latest delivery time estimate I had from Krieger was 12-16 weeks. Sometimes, they even go a bit longer than that - I once had them "forget" to ship a couple of finished barrels, so we had to call them up to get the tubes out the door...
Other barrel makers (e.g Lilja or Bartlein) report somewhat shorter delivery times (8-12 weeks, say). I guess that is what you get for wanting a Krieger...

Big Don,
I ordered a barrel from Krieger for my 404 Jeffery at the end of December 2007. Quote for time was 16-18 weeks (perfect). In the middle of February I received the card saying it was done.
For what its worth, Hart did me the same way on a 6.5mm barrel.
This is a terrible problem to have!!
Thanks, Doug
My last 6.5mm Krieger was 4 months for an off the shelf contour/twist/length.
