Pistolsmith to swap S & W barrels............
I'm seeking a pistolsmith to swap barrels on a Smith & Wesson M/27. Looking for someone with reasonable turnaround time for such a job. PAY ATTENTION I'M NOT looking for advice folks, thank you.

You can do it; all you need is a vise and some hard wood. They aren't on all that tight.

Timing the sights is the hardest.

Make sure you drive out the barrel lock pin beforehand.

This should be obvious but clamp, clamp, clamp.

The armorer at the P D in my city (hint hint) snapped a revolver frame removing a barrel.

I don't know if he will even do them any more since he went almost exclusively scope mount, but Jack Wiegand did my barrel swap and customization on my model 58 back in the 90s. He is fantastic. He used to do S&W factory repair on contract.
