Butch,
Keep the photos coming. That rifle is a beauty.
Are you going to DSC? I sure like to see that rifle in person if you plan to be in Dallas next weekend.

Has David started yours yet?

Is that bolt checkering David's work, or is that a bolt handle that was purchased with the checkering already on it. Either way, I agree with the others, it is stunning.

Yea, I called him the 1st week in December and he said he had the barrel back from Clearwater and it was now a 6.5mm. He said the action was now square bridged but wasn't setup for mounts yet and would need heat treating after he was finished. He said this time of year he puts all the custom work on hold and concentrate's on "walk in's". He said these folks not only want their gun's fixed but they also like to talk a lot and he can't concentrate with all the traffic in and out of his shop. He said after the hunting season is over with he goes back to the custom work again. The job is still on schedule.

Seeing your's always' get's me excited about my project. With the economy in the ruts like it is now, I may have to wait awhile before I get it stocked.

Butch,
Isn't the wood on this rifle from Roger Vardy. If so what are your thoughts about it. Do you have a picture of the blank? He has one I've got my eye on. Almost bought it but the job that I make real money at has hinted about layoffs so had to back off for now. Bought a car for my 16 year old girl and INSURANCE, Eeker
Anyway, Enjoy that rifle (very nice) and the new year also!

That is Roger's wood. I have a photo somewhere. I have to depend on my stocker to pick the wood. I am not capable of looking at a blank and seeing it completed. Roger picked this one and David said it was a left handed blank. My first rifle from David was my Lott and it had Roger's wood on it. I have one more blank that came out of the defect pile that I traded Roger. It will be on my Pierce receivered 6.5X47L. I need to finish the metal work and get it to James Anderson to blue and stock. Not unhappy with David at all as he has been just super to work with. I just want a different style on this one and think James is the man. David is always quick to credit Mr. Ottmar for being patient with him and being free with his knowledge.

Thanks Butch, for adding the wood blank pictures. The one I was looking at doesnt have that much fiddleback, but it is an exhibition blank. Its tough to pick em out on the internet. I know my camera does ok on some wood and bad on others!

Terry, I hope yours does look better! I am really anxious to see it when he is done. I wish he was like Duane and others and took photos.
I don't know about the bolt handle. I just told David what I thought I wanted and he delivered. I usually just give him an outline of what I want and he brings up ideas and I just leave him alone.
Terry, I know that I still have those photo somewhere and will find them one day.
