anyone know of Marlin bolt action rifle quality?

I have one (old MR7) and like it very much but have only shot it a few times. Has a low single digit SN and I got a couple of special stocks from Marlin that were made for the first rifles going out to the owners and other vip’s. Mine just slipped through lol!!!

I know someone who likes them, Savage, and Remington. He'd like a 30.06. I was going to see if anyone here has experience with the marlins as I don't know anything about them.

Of the 3 brands mentioned, which would you recommend? This is an "entry level" big game rifle for him and he shoots the 30.06 comfortably.

IMO the Remington easily.....regardless of what Jack Belk has to say about them!

I didn't even read what Mr. Belk had to say about Remmy. If it was negative, it won't change my mind. I love them.
