rechamber Rem 760
A friend here has an old Rem 760 in .35 Rem and wants to have it rechambered to .35 Whelen. Any gunsmiths (preferably near Pennsylvania) who do barrel work on these? He is not in a big hurry, so is willing to wait to find someone who knows his way around these rifles. Thanks.

I'll give him 200$ not to do that, and then buy himself a savage 110 in 338 winmag, which is what he wants anyway.

you'll have incredible feeding problems, if you got someone willing to do it.

I've always had a softspot for 35 rem. It's no recoil and big slow bullets.

it can NOT be done for a reasonable amount. that amount being the price of buying another one in 35 whelen.

I have to agree with Jeffe. I bought one that someone had put together before Remington adopted the 35 Whelen as a factory cartridge. It was nothing but a nightmare.

If your friend has to have a 35 Whelen find a factory rifle chambered for it or as suggested just buy a 338 and be done with it.
