rcraigHe got tired of the crap from the "know it alls". He left, taking with him his expertise and knowledge. He might be posting on Practical Machinist.

dpcdI was just going to say exactly the same thing. Got tired of all the nonsense from self appointed experts.
He is alive and well in Canada. He does know and has done a lot of innovative things.

Have not seen him on Practical Machinist.
He gave up forums due to the know it all's and due to the big amount of PM's and emails he was receiving. Took too much time away from his business.
Cost him money to participate on the forums. Yea, I can understand that.

kendogHe has a YouTube channel that has some interesting videos on it.

copperlakeThanks for all that. Years ago in preparation for what I'm doing now, I did a LOT of reading on various forums and he was one guy that could get your attention. I'm doing that now, again, as I get deeper into the amateur smithing and keep bumping into him with searches.

Michael RobinsonWhat a shame.
To my mind, on the internet, one can only state the facts, or in some cases, his opinion.
That's it.
Don't engage the stupid, or the trolls.
The dross will be skimmed off by those with experience, and those who can think.

Agreed, I would also like to thank all the members on this forum that take time to share their experience and expertise with us.

I think it was more a case of he'd describe exactly how to do something right, often with pictures, and then amateurs would pile on the thread with suggestions of a bunch of jacked up weird ways they thought might work instead.

dpcdRight; he did not tire of giving advice nor time. It was the know it alls and idiots who wouldn't listen that he couldn't take any more of.
